Glendale Arts Association presents 2018 Spring Show: New Beginnings

An exhibition of art works by members of the Glendale Art Association

Opening  reception Friday May 4, 7:00 to 9:00 pm

For twenty days in May paintings, photography and sculpture by members of the Glendale Art Association will be on display for sale at the spacious Betsy Lueke Creative Art Center Gallery in Burbank. The gala opening reception will be on the 4th of May from 7:00 to 9:00 in the evening. After that the works may be viewed from 9:00 in the morning to 9:00 in the evening Monday through Thursday. On Friday the Gallery closes at 7:00 and on Saturday at 1:00. It is closed on Sunday.

Meridian Production presents Malkhas Jazz Band

‘MALKHAS’ Jazz Band, founded by Levon Malkhasyan, presents a constellation of bright Armenian jazz performers, each of them in turn the leader of different jazz ensembles.

The event is full of lively musical colors as well as interesting and unexpected solutions in ethno-jazz style, all performed with an enticing display of artistic freedom and special surprises.

California Dance Classics Inaugural Gala

An extraordinary program featuring California’s most outstanding young Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dancers. California Dance Classics’ Gala, lead by Pacific Northwest Ballet Company Principal Dancers and Artists from Milwaukee Ballet Company, promises to be a lively evening of dance celebration. Hosted by Mark L. Walberg, these outstanding young artists (selected via auditions and competition performances throughout California) come together to blow away the audience with their exquisite ability and deep passion for the art of Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Brand 46: Works on Paper – CALL FOR ARTISTS!

46th Annual National Juried Exhibition

Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California is announcing its 46th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. Cash awards total over $4,000 including a Juror’s Award. All accepted artworks will be included in a printed exhibition catalog. Our juror this year is Edward Goldman, a Los Angeles-based art critic well-known for his weekly show, “Art Talk”, on local NPR affiliate KCRW and as a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. Born and educated in Russia, Edward is noted for his fearless and fun opinions and im­passioned views on what he sees in galleries and museums throughout the world. As a supporter of art collecting, Edward teaches a popular series of classes called “The Fine Art of Art Collecting” which features visits to artist studios, galleries and museums, and the homes of private collectors. All submissions must be made via CaFÉ (callforentry.org), a widely utilized on-line submission service that connects artists to exhibition opportunities. To submit, artists must create a free CaFÉ profile and upload images and information about the work(s) they wish to submit to the Brand 46 Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper call.

Entry Deadline: June 1, 2018.

Please submit your entry early as there is a maximum number of artists that we can accommodate.
