Theater, film, and television all call for vocal strength, flexibility, and specificity. This class uses a holistic approach to voice work, to help students explore the dynamics between body, breath, voice, imagination, language, and presence. This approach liberates the mind, body, and voice by strengthening the connection between what a person feels and what they express. By integrating physical exercises with mental focus, students will bring the full richness of their experiences to their work. Students will add more variety to the expression of their voices, in terms of pitch, volume, and singing by strengthening the “support” for their voices. Students will work on Classical Text with their voice work, further developing the awareness, trust and freedom with breathing, body, feelings, imagination, and voice.
