August Strindberg, Anton Chekhov, and Henrik Ibsen laid the foundation for our contemporary theater, each with their own distinct view of the human condition. Working on their plays is not for the faint of heart. The characters you will encounter in this class represent humanity at its most exposed, flawed, and often hilarious. In other words, they are an actor’s dream. Through scene work and exercises we will explore bringing ourselves to the work and finding our own unique way into these stories that feels vital and relevant.
