The evening will be a presentation of inviting compositions performed on oud, taking the audience on a journey through historic Western Armenia to explore authentic Armenian cultural traditions guided by the interpretations of a modern practitioner of this enchanting instrument. On occasion of the newly released CD, nOUD.
Andrew (Antranig) Kzirian (a.k.a. theoudplayer) is known for his mastery and innovative style of oud interpretation, the Middle Eastern stringed instrument. Kzirian is known particularly for both his fusion-based oud style, and the study of the oud’s history in Armenian music and culture.
Abril Bookstore’s Music Nights are evenings dedicated to music, through performance, lectures, meetings with artists, and any other experience dealing with music enjoyed by Armenians throughout the world. Keeping the international aspect of the Armenian Diaspora in mind, these musical evenings will celebrate the music of Armenia as well as the music of the world. Evenings take place on the last Saturday of each month.
