On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the community gathered for Glendale Arts’ annual Summer Soiree at ace/121 Gallery. Hosted by KTLA 5 News Reporter Ellina Abovian, the evening supports year-round opportunities for artists and audiences to come together and inspire creativity, foster meaningful connections, and build community through performing, cinematic, and visual arts.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of The Aura, Glendale Arts’ inaugural award honoring luminaries who power the arts. The first-ever recipients of The Aura were Laemmle Theatres Head Greg Laemmle and his wife Tish Laemmle who were honored in recognition of their unparalleled dedication to independent filmmakers and the art of storytelling on the screen.
The inspirational evening included amazing food, specialty drinks (including, Glendale Arts Sizzle Reel), live entertainment from Savi and the Hot Toddies, and silent and live auctions that featured arts, entertainment, and memorable experiences.
Special thank you to the event sponsors: Modern Illumination Productions, Laemmle Charitable Foundation, 204 Events, AmFund, Disney VoluntEARS, Forest Lawn Glendale, Golden Road Brewing, History For Hire, Joel N. Sheldon Productions, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Whole Foods Market Glendale, DelunaFilmWorks, and Total Wine & More. Event support is also provided by YMCA Glendale.
