Glendale Community College presents EURYDICE
April 7, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$10 – $18In this modernized re-telling of the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus, nothing is as it seems: stones can talk, rooms are made out of string, and the devil rides a tricycle. The story begins when the fairytale romance between Eurydice and Orpheus abruptly ends — on their wedding day – as Eurydice falls to her death. On her way to the underworld, Eurydice’s memories are erased; when she is reunited with her deceased father, she believes he is the porter. As Eurydice’s father slowly and secretively helps her remember her past, Orpheus grieves and plots a way to bring his wife back. In playwright, Sarah Ruhl’s topsy-turvy Overworld/Underworld setting, anything can and does happen.
