DESCRIPTION:HE TALKS! Charlie Chaplin’s hilarious\, still devastating political satire about Hitler and the Nazis was his first all talking picture. The Great Dictator is set in the fictional nation of Tomania\, loosely disguised as Nazi Germany. Chaplin plays both a Jewish barber and the country’s fascist dictator. \nJoin us for this groundbreaking film that was nominated for 5 Academy Awards® – Best Picture 1940; Best Actor and Screenplay (Chaplin); Best Supporting Actor (Jack Oakie\, hilarious as Napaloni); Best Score (Meredith Willson). SUMMARY:AEG Presents MIRANDA SINGS LIVE YOU'RE WELCOME
DESCRIPTION:Award-winning comedian\, writer\, and trained vocalist Colleen Ballinger extends her stage show through 2018. Featuring appearances by both Colleen and ‘Miranda Sings\,’ the tour offers Ballinger’s signature blend of live comedy\, singing\, awkward innuendos and a lot of lipstick. Audiences can expect a fast-paced 75-minute show and will be left feeling grateful. \nBallinger’s character ‘Miranda Sings’ has become an international phenomenon whose YouTube channel has amassed over 8 million devoted subscribers and over a billion views. The character ‘Miranda’ was created in 2008 to parody the young\, self-absorbed singers with far more confidence (and vibrato) than talent which Colleen saw uploading videos to YouTube. ‘Miranda’ is known for her overdrawn red lips\, questionable advice about singing and life\, a deluded self-confidence\, and over-the-top rants about her family and personal problems. With the New York Times #1 Bestselling book Selp Helf and the hour-long comedy special inspired by it\, Colleen’s eccentric alter ego continues to grow beyond her YouTube channel. \n7:00 PM – Doors open\n8:00 PM – Show \nThis show is open to all ages shows but is rated PG13 for some adult references and expletives that appear briefly on a screen.

DESCRIPTION:For more Details go to www.letsrise.co \nRISE is a 2-day conference designed\, curated\, and produced by Rachel Hollis and the incredible team at Chic Media. For the second year in a row we’re cultivating a space where women from every walk of life can come together to be inspired\, supported and enveloped in a community. As always\, RISE weekend will be the perfect balance of loving encouragement and straight-up kicking your butt. Expect to be energized and motivated. Expect to cry and laugh and maybe drink too much wine. Expect to reconnect with those dreams and goals you’ve been carrying around for years without any idea of what to do with them. Expect to dream. Expect to be inspired. Expect to RISE. \nThis year’s theme is ELEVATE. Which means on Day ONE we are going to dig into our past to discover more of what makes you you or what has shaped you and what got you here today. Day TWO will be about bringing what you learned on DAY ONE and fully engaging and applying that to your goals for the future. 700+ women just like you\, who come from a variety of practices and professions. SUMMARY:Glendale Community College presents EURYDICE
DESCRIPTION:In this modernized re-telling of the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus\, nothing is as it seems:  stones can talk\, rooms are made out of string\, and the devil rides a tricycle. The story begins when the fairytale romance between Eurydice and Orpheus abruptly ends — on their wedding day – as Eurydice falls to her death. On her way to the underworld\, Eurydice’s memories are erased; when she is reunited with her deceased father\, she believes he is the porter. As Eurydice’s father slowly and secretively helps her remember her past\, Orpheus grieves and plots a way to bring his wife back. In playwright\, Sarah Ruhl’s topsy-turvy Overworld/Underworld setting\, anything can and does happen. \nApril 5\, 6\, 7\, 12\, and 13 at 8:00 pm \nApril 7\, 8\, and 14 at 2:00 pm \nNo photography or video recording of performance. \nThere is a $2 ticket fee added to the cost.

SUMMARY:Groundbreaking Armenian/LGBTQIA Art Exhibit Opens Worldwide Submissions
DESCRIPTION:Glendale\, CA – Roslin Art Gallery\, the Gay and Lesbian Armenian Society (GALAS) and Abril Bookstore have joined forces in organizing a first of its kind art exhibition in June 2018 titled\, THE MANY FACES OF ARMENIANS: A Celebration of Queer-Armenian Art\, to be held during LGBT Pride Month at Roslin Art Gallery in Glendale\, CA. Submissions for artwork are now open.\nExperiences of queerness and/or otherness are common to both Armenian and LGBTQIA+ communities\, who share a history of oppression under different contexts. In a diverse city such as Los Angeles\, the experiences of being queer or other are constantly evolving\, while in different parts of the world\, they remain taboo. The purpose of this exhibit is to bring these experiences to light and\, ultimately\, to celebrate what is considered to be queer or other. \n \nThis is a call to all artists of Armenian descent\, whether or not you identify as LGBTQIA+\, to submit artwork that embodies notions of queerness and/or otherness. The deadline for submissions is April 27\, 2018. Each artist may display up to 3 works of art. Selected artists will be notified by May 7. Participants will be responsible for shipping their works. All submissions should include a one paragraph bio\, an artist statement about the work and at least 3 images of each piece – showing the full image and details. Works will be made available for sale.\n \nBoth GALAS and Abril Bookstore are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. GALAS is celebrating its 20th year of fostering a safe and supportive network for LGBTQ people of Armenian descent. Over the course of two decades\, the organization has been at the forefront in raising awareness to empower the worldwide LGBTQ Armenian community and champion equality.  Abril Bookstore is celebrating 40 years of service as a cultural hub to the Armenian community of Los Angeles\, providing a source of knowledge and a space for a variety of activities.  Collaborations between such organizations are aimed at building crucial bridges between the LGBTQ and Armenian communities.\nEmail inquiries and submissions to: queerhyeart@gmail.com or call Roslin Art Gallery at (818) 241-0611.\n\n###\nCONTACT: Arno Yeretzian at Roslin Art Gallery (818) 241-0611 /queerhyeart@gmail.com

Grassroots advocates from across the country come to Washington\, DC to meet with their members of Congress to garner support for issues like arts education policy\, the charitable tax deduction\, and funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. \nOn Monday\, March 12\, 2018\, hundreds of arts advocates from across the country convened for interactive advocacy training and peer-to-peer learning and networking. That evening\, attendees attended the Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. \nThen\, on Tuesday\, March 13\, 2018\, after the Congressional Arts Kick Off\, advocates met with their Members of Congress and Senators to share their stories about the impact and transformative power that the arts have in their communities. \n

Our mission is based on the belief that our young people have a better chance of succeeding in their world if they appreciate and participate in its rich artistic and cultural traditions. Errol Flynn\, at his swashbuckling best\, portrays Robin Hood\, the impudent and dashing bandit of Sherwood Forest. This is a film that races from start to finish! \nOpening the festivities is Rabbit Hood starring Bugs Bunny (Warner Bros. 1949)\, directed by Chuck Jones. Plus\, Warner Bros. Bloopers from Robin Hood and other WB hit movies from 1938 and Howard Hill in ‘King of the Archers’. \nWe are beyond pleased to present Rory Flynn as our special on-stage guest!
